Situated in Northern California, roughly 20 miles from Downtown Sacramento, Rocklin offers a family oriented lifestyle that features good schools, ample recreational facilities and all the benefits of being close to California’s capital city, Sacramento. Rocklin is blessed with the pleasant rolling terrain of a foothills community, with lots of open space for those that need to stretch out once in a while.
The city of Rocklin is located in Placer County and was incorporated in 1893. Home to over 58,000 residents, Rocklin also serves as a major Northern California job center. Major employers such as Oracle, UPS, United Natural Foods and RC Willy provide job opportunities in the city.
Schools
Rocklin schools are widely recognized as some of the best in the Sacramento metro area. Rocklin Unified School District provides K through 12 education for residents of the City. That includes 11 elementary schools, two middle schools, two high schools, one continuation high school and one independent charter school.
Parks and Recreational Facilities
Rocklin residents have access to five community parks, 25 neighborhood parks and one park dedicated to families with dogs. The community parks offer facilities for baseball, softball, soccer, tennis and basketball, as well as space for a variety of other sporting activities. Three of the community parks have water sports/swimming facilities.
Shopping
Rocklin residents don’t have to drive far to find shopping opportunities. All major Northern California grocers are available right in Rocklin, or in the case of Nugget Market or Whole Foods, just across to city limits in Roseville. For the retail therapy experience, the Westfield Galleria regional mall is located close by in Roseville, as well. In and around Rocklin, residents can find a variety of retailers, like Target, RC Willy, Walmart, Costco and Sam’s Club.
Housing
Rocklin is generally considered to be moderately expensive housing market, with single family home prices for ranging from the mid-$200,000’s to prices well past $1 million. Most homes in Rocklin fall in the $350,000 to $500,000 range. Rocklin also has over 1,300 condominium units, of which most are garden style walk-up construction with between 800 and 1,400 square feet.
Entertainment – Much like Roseville, Rocklin offers has something for pretty much everyone when it comes to entertainment.
